INTERACTION WITH EXTERNAL PROVIDERS
Sun Manufacturing requires its External Providers:
- Understand the processes, products and services to be provided, including the identification of relevant technical data such as drawings, specifications, Quality Plans and Bill of Materials. These requirements should be listed on the PO, when they are not the supplier is required to contact Sun Manufacturing for clarification.
- Be aware that Sun Manufacturing will conduct Receiving Inspection for the approval of:
- Products and services;
- Methods, processes and equipment;
- The release of products and services;
- Understand the requirements for competence, including any required qualification of persons per Industry Standards or requirements of Sun Manufacturing’s customers;
- Understand the need to communicate with Sun Manufacturing any discrepancy to the requirements or any change to the delivery schedule;
- Understand Sun Manufacturing will control and monitor the external providers’ performance of On Time Delivery and Defect Rate;
- Understand the verification or validation activities that Sun Manufacturing, or its customer, intends to perform at the external providers’ premises;
- Understand the design and development controls required;
- Understand any special requirements, critical items or key characteristics;
- Understand the need of any test, inspection and verification, including production process verification requirements;
- Understand the need for the use of statistical techniques for product acceptance and related instructions for acceptance by Sun Manufacturing, when required;
- Understand the need to:
- Implement a quality management system;
- Use customer-designated or approved external providers, including special processes;
- Notify Sun Manufacturing of nonconforming processes, products or services and to obtain approval for their disposition;
- Prevent the use of counterfeit parts;
- Notify Sun Manufacturing of changes to processes, products or services, including changes of their external providers or location of manufacture, and obtain Sun Manufacturing’s approval;
- Flow down to external providers applicable requirements including customer requirements;
- Provide test specimens for design approval, inspection/verification, investigation or auditing;
- Retain documented information for a minimum of 5 years. If after 5 years, the Organization decides not to retain the records, contact Sun Manufacturing for disposition requirements;
- Understand the right of access by Sun Manufacturing, our customers and regulatory authorities to the applicable areas of facilities and to applicable documented information, at any level of the supply chain;
- Ensure that persons are aware of:
- Their contribution to product or service conformity;
- Their contribution to product safety;
- The importance of ethical behavior;
